Quotes:
"We are living in perhaps the most anti-intellectual period in the history of Christendom—not anti-academic or anti-scientific but anti-mind. I doubt if there has ever been a time in church history when professing Christians have been less concerned about doctrine than they are in our day.” - Dr. R.C. Sproul
Heresy: Doctrinal departures from revealed truth, or erroneous views.
Dr. Martyn Loyd Jones' tests to determine a false teacher:
1. If its new, its likely not true.
2. Just because everyone agrees does not mean its true.
3. Just because someone in a church somewhere is teaching it does not mean its true.
4. The false teachings and differences are usually subtle and hard to nail down.
5. Many times the false teachers are irreverent and approach preaching and handling the Word of God with frivolity rather than the seriousness that it demands.
6. The teaching is dishonest at its core.
7. It always takes a superficial view of sin and evil.
8. It is empty.
